How I can help you
I can assist clients in the ideation stage of starting a business and help them develop sound business plans to ensure their business venture is sustainable.
Most of my 40+ years of employment have been in the management of polymer technology. The development of new products and markets is similar to what entrepreneurs go through when they start-up and grow new businesses. I have helped businesses define new areas for growth and helped them assess methods of entry into those markets - always assessing for profitability. Without making money, it’s not really a business.
My first 30+ years were in a manufacturing environment so I understand all the steps involved in taking an idea from concept, to initial testing, on through scale-up and finally to production. I recognize the importance of quality products/services and customer satisfaction in obtaining and maintaining clients.
My last 10 years have been as a sole proprietor of JG Polymer Consulting helping companies understand their business models and helping them assess their products and the markets they serve.
Over my career, I have served on numerous committees that were responsible for maintaining the company’s intellectual property and have extensive experience in writing and evaluating patents.
I’ve served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and governmental advisory committees.
For the last 10 years, I have served as an AARP TaxAide volunteer – preparing tax free returns for clients. Because of that work, I recognize tax implications for sole proprietors or people that have formed LLCs or S corporations.
